Job Description:


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Education department at Salve Regina University is seeking a highly qualified and motivated instructor to supervise elementary and special education teacher candidates in methods and student teaching placements. The instructor is expected to teach one course per week and observe junior and/or senior year students in their field placements. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of the RI Model Teacher Evaluation system and those with supervisory experience. The university is located in scenic Newport, Rhode Island.



Requirements:


A minimum of a Master's degree in Education or a related field, as well as K-12 teaching experience and other appropriate credentials, if applicable.


  • Experience teaching in the K-12 setting
  • An ability to teach during the day or evening at the scheduled class times
  • Experience using technology and interactive electronic materials to support teaching and learning
  • Experience using a Learning Management System such as Canvas
