Minimum Qualifications:

Position Summary:

The Associate Director of Alumni Programs serves as the program manager for the Office of Alumni Relations’ signature programs including Bulldog 100, 40 Under 40, and the Alumni Awards. This includes serving as the day-to-day point of contact for the project management team made up of Development & Alumni Relations (DAR) colleagues in the Office of Strategic Programs and DAR Communications. This position manages the nomination, application, and outreach initiatives for 40 Under 40, Bulldog 100 and Alumni Awards. This position works directly with past and current honoree groups to create and ensure engagement plans are in place and coordinates efforts with the Alumni Board of Directors, DAR colleagues, and departmental colleagues regarding honoree engagement.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Signature Program Management

  • Serve as the Office of Alumni Relations’ lead point of contact for Bulldog 100, 40 Under 40, and Alumni Awards.
  • Responsible for attending all quality control meetings and serving as the day-to-day point of contact for the Office of Alumni Relations to the QC/project team.
  • Lead assigned committees and complete logistical tasks as assigned by the collaborative Quality Control committees on behalf of Alumni Relations.
  • Plan, implement, and provide follow-up details regarding the nomination and selection processes and honoree management for Bulldog 100 and 40 Under 40.
    • Manage nomination and application set up.
    • Track nominations, nominators, and honorees in the Giving and Alumni Information Link system (GAIL).
    • Act as the primary or secondary point of contact for honorees.
    • Submit communication requests for honoree communication marketing efforts.

Honoree Engagement

  • Deepen engagement of honorees to the university. Create and oversee receptions, events, philanthropic messaging, and engagement strategies to cultivate commitment to UGA in honorees.
  • Establish plan for school/college/unit development and alumni directors to have individual engagement plans for the weekend honorees are in Athens for events.
  • Ensure honorees are connected to an engagement plan either with Development or through the Office of Alumni Relations.
  • Conceptualize, plan, and execute honoree engagement strategies utilizing alumni relations resources such as alumni chapters, councils, and affinity groups.
  • Manage honoree invitations to Alumni Association Sky Suite.
  • Create copy for bi-annual honoree newsletters for Bulldog100 and 40 Under 40 programs.

Board of Directors Engagement

  • Manage, guide, and provide support to the UGA Alumni Association Board members participating in the 40 Under 40 selection process.
  • Conceptualize Signature Program committee agendas in coordination with the Committee Chair.
  • Work in collaboration with committee chair to ensure board committee members have delegated tasks to further engage honorees.
  • Ensure committee chair is tracking board members in their completion of volunteer duties regarding honoree engagement.
