This position will be open until filled.

Job Summary: Receives incoming calls for security services, dispatches officers as appropriate, and monitors fire alarms. Documents security service requests in an electronic records management and dispatch system. Operates a computer aided mobile dispatch system and monitors CCTV system.

Position Hours: 2 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:

H.S. Diploma or equivalent and 1 year experience or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Licensing Requirements: Valid Driver's License

Hiring Range: $28,787 - $35,983

Job Specific Task List:

  • Receives calls concerning crimes, emergencies, and other requests for security assistance; monitors and responds to calls from the Nowforce system, as well as from campus "Blue Light" emergency telephones. - (Essential)
  • Operates a computer aided mobile dispatch (CAD) system. - (Essential)
  • Monitors fire and burglar alarms and alarm systems for all college buildings. - (Essential)
  • Broadcasts orders to officers in vicinity to investigate complaint or request when appropriate; relays instructions or questions from remote units. - (Essential)
  • Relays radio and telephone messages between officers and the community. - (Essential)
  • Contacts appropriate emergency services such as police, fire and emergency medical services. - (Essential)
  • Performs receptionist duties; responds to questions from walk-in and telephone traffic. - (Essential)
  • Controls access to college secured areas; monitors the departments closed circuit camera systems. - (Essential)
  • Performs various clerical duties including completing the electronic dispatch log and filing incident reports. - (Essential)
  • Performs other duties as assigned. - (Essential)
