Assistant Professor of Communication – Media Production

 

The Department of Communication at Salisbury University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Media Production beginning fall 2023.

 

 

 

Primary Job Duties: Teach undergraduate courses in our media production track. This includes video production, screenwriting, introduction to media, other assigned courses demonstrating a variety of skills in the area of expertise, and particularly audio production. Demonstrate appropriate levels of scholarly/creative activity, service (contributions to university, professional, and community committees, organizations, and groups), student academic advisement, and effective teaching and classroom management strategies that enhance the success of diverse learners.

Minimum Qualifications: M.F.A or ABD in Filmmaking/Ph.D. or ABD in Communication or related field, with strong preference for candidates with a terminal degree. If ABD, the candidate would be hired at the rank of Instructor, with the expectation that the candidate completes the terminal degree by June 15, 2024. Applicants must show evidence of production and aesthetic aspects of media production, and knowledge of relevant hardware and software to incorporate current production practices into classes.

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of effective teaching and experience in several aspects of media production, particularly audio production, and in areas of academic specialty.
