The Department of Management Science and Information Systems (MSIS) at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Information Systems, to begin September 1, 2023.
Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a closely related field, awarded prior to the date of appointment. ABDs who will complete the doctorate by no later than August 31, 2023 will be considered. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated potential to conduct research and publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals. The candidate will have a demonstrated potential and commitment to effective teaching in graduate and undergraduate courses.
The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain an active research agenda and publish in high-quality Information Systems journals or related journals. Responsibilities of the position include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in areas including big data analytics, data warehousing, and management information systems. Candidates with research or teaching interests in the area of cyber-security or artificial intelligence will also be considered. Industry experience is a plus. The candidate is expected to interact effectively with a culturally diverse population of students and colleagues.
UMass Boston is a Carnegie-classified research-high university located on Boston harbor in one of the most intellectually rich and innovative cities in the United States. The College of Management is AACSB accredited and has an enrollment of approximately 2,500 students. The college offers two undergraduate degrees of which one is a BS in Information Technology, five master’s degrees including an MS in Business Analytics and an MS in Information Technology, and a PhD in Information Systems and Data Science.
