The Administrative Assistant for Academic Affairs works collaboratively with Management and Faculty reporting to the Executive Assistant to the President/CEO and providing administrative support to the Faculty.
Essential Functions
- A key figure within the Administrative team that works collaboratively on special projects
- Handles highly confidential information and documents in a professional manner.
- As directed, prepares and assembles agendas, packets, and other pre-meeting materials
- Takes and distributes meeting materials as assigned.
- Establishes and maintains institutional files and records.
- Provides support to committees/councils and special projects, as assigned.
- Provides secondary support to the President’s office.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, and software.
Position Type and Hours of Work
This full-time position has scheduled days and work hours of Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Position Requirements- Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university and 5 years of related professional experience
- Significant related experience may substitute for education.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative support experience
- Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
- Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem-solving methods in a variety of situations
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Demonstrated ability in providing customer service to individuals of diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Demonstrated experience working at the executive level
- Higher Education experience
- Experience with onboarding Students and Faculty at Medical Facilities

Fully accredited by ACEN (for the AAS program), CCNE (for the BS programs) and Middle States (for the entire College), HFCN provides opportunities for a professional career in nursing through three programs:An accelerated LPN to RN/AAS track, which can be completed in one calendar year;
A generic baccalaureate in nursing program for students with no prior nursing degree, and which can be completed in 28 months; A baccalaureate in nursing completion program for registered nurses.
The College is located in Harlem, one of the most dynamic and safe communities in New York City. We are easily accessible from all boroughs, Long Island and the Tri-State Area via public transportation, Metro North or car, although parking is limited. Classes are held during the day and evenings, Monday through Saturday. Clinical placements are located throughout NYC and Long Island, and are scheduled Tuesdays through Sundays.
