Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: The IT Technical Specialist III performs advanced professional IT activities for a specialized, complex assignment or functional area requiring application of an advanced professional knowledge of IT principles, practices, and procedures. Requires evaluation, originality or ingenuity. May supervise and/or direct the work of project teams or other lower level staff.

Additional Department Summary: Develops, implements, and supports websites for The College of Continuing Studies, including assigned top-level college sites and college division sites. Develops back-end and front-end code. Builds and manages databases. Creates forms and web applications. Establishes and executes processes and workflows that lead to optimal experiences for end-users. Writes code. Builds websites within UA’s institutional framework and contributes to the framework by building new features and fixing them as needed. Builds and supports web templates in the institutional content management system (CMS). Tests and maintains dynamic websites in development and production environments. Works collaboratively as part of a team to build and support CCS's framework, CMS, and all websites that utilize them. Supervises the Web Systems Manager. Ensures staff follow accessibility guidelines.

This position may be eligible for remote work.

Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree and one (1) year of experience in web development; OR Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in web development; OR high school diploma and four (4) years experience in web development. Must list experience, coursework, and/or certification in designing and/or building websites (student experience may be considered).

Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, CMS development, database management, and web security. Experience and familiarity working with one or more of the following: accessibility (WCAG 2.0 AA), forms development, graphic design, Photoshop or other image editing software, and other web development languages or technologies.
