Job Description:

The Department of Environmental and Global Health in the College of Public Health and Health Professions is recruiting a non-tenure track faculty member at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will primarily be expected to teach two to three courses each semester at the graduate and undergraduate levels, including but not limited to Environmental Health Concepts, Global Public Health, Environmental Sustainability and Development, Climate Change and Health. The position provides leadership opportunities to further develop dynamic distance learning and study abroad programs. Engagement in research activities that complement the department’s mission is encouraged, but not required.

The Department of Environmental and Global Health (EGH) incorporates a dynamic faculty with expertise spanning environmental infectious diseases, viral discovery, toxicology and exposure science, aquatic systems and coastal community health, global health, AI and GIS, food and nutritional security, and occupational health and safety. EGH programs offer a master of health science and doctoral degrees in Environmental Health and One Health. The College is part of UF’s Health Science Center that includes the colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine. Department faculty also collaborate with the UF Emerging Pathogens Institute, the Institute of Child Health Policy, the UF Health Cancer Center, the UF Genetics Institute, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute and the McKnight Brain Institute, all of which provide state-of-the-art environments and large data sets access.

This is a 1.0 FTE, 12-month position, expected to start Fall 2022-Spring 2023. The position is supported by a competitive salary with benefits including health, life, dental and vision insurance; flexible spending accounts; retirement options; paid holidays and wellness benefits.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants should have a doctoral degree in an environmental- or global health-related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching experience in environmental/global health areas preferred.
