On the most beautiful college campus in the country, SMU Mustangs are energized by unbridled opportunities – from teaching, learning and research to creativity, performance and athletic endeavor.About the Position:The Regional Director of Admission is a 10-month position that is responsible for innovative and data-driven recruitment of prospective undergraduate students in the states of Florida, Georgia, and Alabama with Florida being the primary state of residence. This position entails relationship building and communication with high school counselors, students, families and alumni; effectively extolling SMU, its brand and attributes to constituents; application file review; participation/planning of on- and off- campus events. Responsibilities include seeing students from inquiry to evaluating their admission applications in assigned territories and participating in Admission Committee to make final decisions.Essential Functions:
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred. Five years’ college admission or related work experience is required; preferably at a residential not-for-profit, selective college or university. Significant demonstrated knowledge of admission and recruitment practices is required.Experience in high school counseling is a plus.Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required. Knowledge and familiarity of CRM system is desirable.Valid driver’s license is required, as well as a good driving record, and the ability to drive evenings/night.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Must have the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and working relationships.Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.Candidate must possess strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects. Must be attentive to detail and accuracy.Must have the ability to use quantitative and observational data to analyze problems and recommend solutions. Candidate must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with others in a team environment. Candidate must be willing and able to attend evening and weekend recruitment programs on and off campus; travel in evenings and over weekends is required.Must be willing and able to travel frequently both locally and throughout the United States.Physical and Environmental Demands:

- Strategically manage the recruitment efforts in an assigned geographic territories, including a recruitment and marketing plan, and produce reports about progress. Identify qualified students through high school visits, student meetings, and direct mail follow up.Review applicant files for admission and scholarships and recommend decisions. Monitor students' progress from inquiry stage through initial enrollment.Participate in event planning and related recruitment projects in assigned territories and on the SMU Dallas campus.Complete in-depth market analysis and progress reports.
