The Social Media Specialist/ Communications/ Marketing Associate supports UT Conferences & Event Services and the UT Center for Professional Education & Lifelong Learning (CPELL) by producing digital media products that promote the unit's mission through strategic communications.  The position performs a wide range of digital graphic design and related marketing duties, from the conceptualization of ideas to execution and delivery, and will help both internal and external clients reach their goals through a commitment to high -quality design and collaboration.



Qualifications
The Social Media Specialist will perform the following duties in fulfillment of the role:

+Serves as the primary administrator for all social media platforms used by the unit. This includes Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, TikTok and YouTube

+Manages all messaging for these platforms and works with other team members who serve as contributors to provide message consistency

+Creates short-form videos for social media

+Builds, designs and executes social media strategy through research, benchmarking, messaging, audience identification, and both unpaid and paid placement of content.

+Maintains University brand identity standards across all platforms.

+Prioritizes work based on the objectives and goals of the work unit.

+Generates, edits, publishes, and shares dynamic social media content daily

+Creates and implements a social media marketing plan and editorial calendar

+Tracks and analyzes web and social media analytic reports to gain insight on traffic, demographics, and effectiveness

+Assist with the unit's photography needs

+Serves as an active member of the UT Communicators Network

+ Monitors trends in digital and social media content, data visualization, and web strategy

+ Performs other related duties as required

Job Skills:

Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills

Strong consultation and collaboration skills with ability to interpret the needs of both internal and external clients.

Experience in editing and formatting images for use on websites and social media

Knowledge and experience with digital marketing campaigns, including e-mail newsletters, search marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), and social media marketing

Ability to work independently and to complete projects within established time lines

Photography and video skills preferred.

Education:

High School Diploma, Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Journalism, Digital Media, marketing, advertising, or related fields

1-3 years’ experience in social media in a professional environment is required.
