Radiation Oncologist- Clinical Faculty



The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of California, Irvine -School of Medicine invites applications for the position of Radiation Oncologist. This appointment will be in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series, at either the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. Duties will include clinical care, teaching of residents and students, and scholarly activity. Priority will be given to candidates with a proven track record of academic productivity, as demonstrated through high-impact publications and/or grant funding. Skills conducive to practice-building will be especially valued, as well as an ability to work collaboratively within and outside of the Department.

Applicants must possess an M.D. degree (or equivalent), be board certified in Radiation Oncology (or eligible by time of appointment) and hold an unrestricted CA medical license (by time of appointment).
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series:
The incumbent will be expected to direct patient care; teach resident and medical students; participate in research and/or creative work; and perform public and University service.

Located at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center in Orange, California, the Department of Radiation Oncology is an integral part of the NCI-designated Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Department is equipped with a robust blend of technology, including a dedicated HDR brachytherapy suite and an intraoperative unit. Further equipment upgrades are planned. The Department features a four-year Radiation Oncology residency training program and a Medical Physics training program. The Department has an active Radiation Biology Division that currently ranks among the top programs in the nation with respect to NIH funding. The Department participates in NRG/RTOG and SWOG and encourages investigator-initiated clinical and translational trials.
