The School of Education is an academic unit reporting to the Provost. The School is a major center of research, teaching, and public service within the State of North Carolina, the nation, and the world. The School offers a full range of undergraduate and graduate programs. The mission of the School of Education is to conduct research, and generate basic and applied knowledge about human development, educational technology and entrepreneurship, teaching and learning, school counseling, school psychology, administration, as well as educational policy and leadership; prepare leaders in the profession of education by conducting outstanding research, teaching, and service; and assist in the development of strong and effective public schools in North Carolina. In order to fulfill its mission, the School is organized into three academic divisions: (1) Culture, Curriculum, & Teacher Education (CCATE), (2) Learning, Development & Psychological Sciences (LDPS), and (3) Educational Policy, Organization, & Leadership (EPOL).
The School of Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a position in School Psychology starting July 1, 2023. This is a full-time, 9-month tenure-line or tenured appointment depending on rank at the time of hire.
Candidates will carry out a research program, actively pursue external funding, and contribute to collaborative and interdisciplinary efforts across the School of Education and campus. Candidates also will (a) develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in school psychology and related areas delivered in face-to-face, online, and/or blended formats, as well as supervise school psychology interns; (b) support strategic initiatives across the School and campus; © contribute to the ongoing development of undergraduate and graduate programs; (d) actively recruit and supervise undergraduate and graduate students; and (e) provide leadership and service at the local, state, and national levels.
Candidates must hold a doctorate in school psychology or a closely related field (e.g., child clinical psychology, counseling psychology) earned from an APA accredited program.
Candidates at the assistant professor level must have an earned doctorate at the time of hire. Candidates at the associate and full levels must have an established record of research, funding, teaching, and service to meet the University’s requirements for tenure and appointment at the respective rank. Depending on rank, candidates will demonstrate a research program that will lead to an outstanding and sustained record of scholarship and securing external funding or will already have such an established record. Candidates will have strong potential, or an established record, of outstanding university teaching and guiding students through dissertation research projects. Candidates must be eligible for school psychology licensure and licensure as a psychologist in North Carolina.
The successful candidate should be dedicated to personal career growth, as well as to the growth of the School of Education and working closely with their colleagues in the School, the University, and their profession.

Location: UNC is located in the heart of Chapel Hill, the best college town in America! It's a friendly town of about 40,000 in the geographical center of North Carolina. Chapel Hill is at the western point of the Research Triangle, an area of about one million people, comprised of Chapel Hill, the cities of Durham and Raleigh, and the Research Triangle Park, home of many corporate offices and scientific research centers. Sports and athletic programs: UNC is an NCAA Division I school with 28 varsity teams. Carolina is the proud home of the Dean Smith Center, Kenan Stadium, Carmichael Auditorium, Koury Natatorium, and many other fine athletic facilities. The MetaLab oversees the development of SunSITE, one of the world's busiest digital library and electronic publishing projects.
Students may open e-mail accounts, and many use campus computer resources to construct personal Web pages. Students in residence halls have hardwired network connections to the Internet and cable television in their rooms. At the ATN Training center, students may take classes on software packages and utilities. Computer labs are available for student use all over campus.
Carolina Computing Initiative: Beginning with the freshman class of 2000, undergraduates must purchase laptop computers. The University has arranged for IBM to offer computers at excellent prices.
