Position Summary
The Bailey Program on Family Enterprise (the Program) at the Daniels College of Business was launched in 2019 as the result of a gift from the Paul T. Bailey estate. The vision for the Program is to become the preeminent resource for family-owned enterprises in the Rocky Mountain region and beyond. The Program will:
- Offer timely and relevant education on issues of relevance to family enterprises
- Create opportunities for individuals in family enterprise to build community, engage with each other, and share best practices
The position will report to the Executive Director of Executive Education Programs.
Essential Functions
The Director will lead the effort, with the support of the advisory board and Daniels Executive Education, to refine and successfully implement a slate of high quality programming, including community engagement and educational programs.
Program Design and Execution:
- Collaborate with Daniels faculty and the Bailey Program Advisory Board to develop coursework on family enterprise.
- Design and execute programming to develop mutually beneficial interactions among members of family enterprises, including social and professional networking opportunities.
- Identify and recruit potential adjunct faculty with relevant expertise for family enterprise programming.
Business Development and Marketing:
- Establish and execute a strategy to recruit family enterprise family members, employees, and practitioners to the program.
- In consultation with the Executive Education team, create and execute a business-development strategy to reach potential participants for the program.
- In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Marketing in Executive Education, and the Daniels Marketing and Communications team, collaborate on synergistic marketing solutions to promote the program.
- Identify and cultivate a community of Bailey Program participants and supporters via ongoing relationship building, careful listening to emerging family enterprise needs, and revisions to the programs and priorities of the program based on key stakeholders changing needs.
Finance and Operations:
- Coordinate with the Executive Director of Executive Education and the Associate Dean of Finance and Business Operations to develop a three-year growth plan and operational budget.
- Be accountable for revenue achievement and cost containment. Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement, such as sponsorship and donations.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrated skill in successfully recruiting and retaining students and faculty for educational programming.
- Demonstrated skill in business development.
- Ability to actively manage budget and deadlines.
- Ability to serve as an active and collaborative partner within the Daniels College of Business to foster strategic, effective, and collaborative educational practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal, written and organizational skills.
- Exceptional attention to details, high level of organization, and commitment to quality.
- Model "One DU" leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders such as the advisory board, faculty, staff and administrators as well as business leaders and community partners.
- Demonstrated record of success in creating and successfully executing new initiatives.
- Demonstrated record of highly collaborative leadership with capacity to promote a strong culture of teamwork and excellence in execution.
- 5 years day-to-day project management and leadership experience with increasing responsibility over time.
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of multiculturalism/diversity/inclusive excellence.
- Bachelors degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an academic or non-profit setting.
- Degree in business or related discipline .
- Knowledge of, and engagement in, the area of family enterprise, including family offices.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Evenings and weekends as needed.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 15.
Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
