The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Radiology, with a focus in Breast Imaging. The candidate will also be expected to mentor junior faculty, providing strong guidance and support in developing clinical and/or translational research careers and guiding basic science investigators working on research relevant to breast imaging. Experience in a leadership roles is considered a positive. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants must be certified by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent.

Teaching responsibilities may include daily clinical supervision of residents and breast imaging fellows and lecturing to medical students, radiology residents, fellows and trainees from other departments. In addition, the candidate will prepare learning materials and lectures, teaching posters and presentations for national review. The successful candidate will be an accomplished educator and be expected to serve in an educational leadership role within the Breast Imaging Division.

Clinical responsibilities may include the full spectrum of clinical breast imaging including digital breast tomosynthesis, US, MRI and interventional procedures.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include leading an internationally recognized program in the radiology department's Division of Breast Imaging. The candidate will also be expected to serve as a mentor to junior faculty, providing strong guidance and support in developing clinical or basic research careers.

The Breast Imaging Division at Penn Medicine is dedicated to the tripartite mission of clinical excellence, research and education and has a long history to leadership in the field. We are seeking individuals to lead the division into the future. The scope will include breast imaging across the 3 Philadelphia based academic hospitals: Hospital of the University of PA, Penn Presbyterian Hospital and Pennsylvania Hospital, including approximately 12 faculty; and performing approximately 36,000 exams and procedures yearly. The division runs a robust fellowship program in addition to its contributions to resident education. In addition, the division maintains strong clinical and translational research programs including extensive collaboration with basic imaging research laboratories. The successful candidate will be expected to recruit, support, and mentor faculty specializing in Breast Imaging and collaborate with other leaders in the department, cancer center and hospital entities.
