Position Overview

Responsible for providing leadership and direction for sales in athletics with an emphasis on ticket sales. Accomplishes business development objectives by researching, developing and implementing sales opportunities and plans. Manages the support functions essential to sales productivity. Works closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates sales forecasting, planning and budgeting within the department
  • Directs the execution of individual sales plan as assigned as part of overall department efforts, with emphasis on customer service
  • Secures new season ticket holders via communication with prospects from marketing lists, previous buyers, University donors and other constituents
  • Manages staff to ensure all sales organization objectives are met
  • Works collaboratively with other division management in ticket sales, fundraising, marketing and promotions, fan development and corporate partnerships to ensure optimization of sales goals
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process improvement
  • Monitors the accuracy and distribution of sales reports and research information
  • Creates peer support and strong internal department and university relationships
  • Serves as a key member of the department leadership team, working closely with colleagues to ensure successful performance for the division as assigned
  • Performs other related duties in areas of External Operations as assigned

Knowledge, Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, meet multiple deadlines and handle a variety of duties simultaneously
  • Flexibility to adapt to irregular work hours to include nights and weekends
  • An understanding of sales planning, forecasting and marketing concepts
  • Ability to work in a team oriented, fast-paced customer service environment
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Marketing, Business or related area
  • At least three years in sales
  • Experience in athletics even as a student, intern, highly desired.
  • Supervisory experience preferred
