Job Duties :

The College of Business is inviting applications for a full-time, nine month Teaching Instructor beginning August 2023 with the possibility to begin January 2023 to teach twelve semester hours of undergraduate courses in the Leadership and Professional Development (LaPD) curriculum within the Department of Management. This is a non-tenure track position. The candidate will also be expected to provide service to the university, community, and profession, regularly attend college and department events and undertake additional duties as assigned by the Leadership Coordinator and/or Department Chair. The current position involves teaching face-to-face classes and may involve some online and/or hybrid modalities in the future. Teaching other courses in the LaPD may be necessary based on the needs of the college. A description of the courses covered in the LaPD is provided below.

BUSI 1200, Strategy First, is designed to create enthusiasm for the study of business and to provide a foundation for personal and professional leadership development for first year business students. Using Business Week as the textbook, students examine strategy motives and fundamental business concepts that drive companies to operate as they do.

BUSI 2200, Experiential Leadership, builds practical applied team and interpersonal skills in a team environment. Students participate in team-based projects where an emphasis is placed on understanding the stages of team development.

BUSI 3200, Professional Development and Ethical Leadership, is the junior year course that emphasizes developing a personal brand while behaving in a professional manner. Students participate in a practice interview and an etiquette dinner to reinforce the networking and etiquette skills that are discussed in class.

The College of Business’ Leadership and Professional Development (LaPD) curriculum culminates with the BUSI 4200, Leadership Capstone course.
