Job Description:

The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for a 9-month, non-tenure track, full-time, position at the rank of Lecturer (Working title of Assistant Instructional Professor). The position’s anticipated start date is August 2022 or January 2023.

The successful candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering with prior industrial and/or instructional experience.

The ideal candidate would have experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in electrical and computer engineering. Duties and responsibilities include teaching, revising, and developing undergraduate engineering courses and laboratories/facilities in areas such as: Digital Logic and Design, Microprocessor Applications, Computer Architecture and Digital Signal Processing. The candidate may participate in department, university, and professional service activities and educational research activities.

The ECE department is specifically looking for candidates with a passion for teaching and a desire to develop and/or continue a career in ECE. Additionally, the ability and desire of candidates to work closely with other faculty in a team approach to instruction delivery, curriculum, and facility development is important.

The ECE Department in the HWCOE is a vibrant, multidisciplinary, and highly collaborative environment. The Department’s external research expenditures are at a record high, $23.6M last year using the ASEE definition. The ECE graduate program ranks #14 among public ECE departments according to U.S. News and World Report. The department leads several university-wide multidisciplinary institutes related to electronics including the Warren B. Nelms Institute for the Connected World, the Florida Institute for CyberSecurity (FICS) Research, and the Multi-functional Integrated System Technology (MIST) Center.

Expected Salary:

Salary to commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering with prior industrial and/or instructional experience.
