Mount Aloysius College invites applications for a part-time Graduate Resident Director (GRD) to join its Residence Life team for the 2022-2023 academic year.

The Graduate Resident Director (GRD) assists the Director of Residence Life, Assistant Director of Residence Life, and Student Affairs Staff with day-to-day activities; supervision, training and development of undergraduate student staff; development of educational programming for residential students; coaching/behavioral intervention; and referral to other Campus resources, when necessary. The GRD participates in an on-call rotation, serves as a resource in crisis and emergency situations, and performs administrative tasks.

The GRD is an integral part of the residence life team and is expected to participate in the planning, implementation and hosting of various events and activities, including but not limited to: Housing selection, Move-in/out, Welcome Week, Hall closings, etc.

The successful candidate is required to live on campus and is provided a furnished studio-style apartment with private bath, living room, and kitchenette. Complimentary meal plan is provided when dining program is in session.

This GRD appointment begins in August 2022, and extends through both the Fall '22 and Spring '23 semesters. An average of 20 hours of service per week is required when students are in residence. The position offers a graduate tuition waiver of up to eighteen (18) credits for the fall/spring semesters and a modest stipend for hours worked paid on an hourly rate basis.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be a current or prospective graduate student at Mount Aloysius College.
  • Enrollment in one of the College’s master’s degree programs is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years’ experience in residence hall leadership or other related leadership experience required.
  • Genuine interest in the student affairs profession is strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills are also required.
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace, ZOOM, and other team management/communication tools is a plus.
  • Strong record of academic achievement as an undergraduate student with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above required.
  • Satisfactory undergraduate student conduct record also required.
Applicants must submit at least three (3) professional references, including one staff member at their undergraduate institution. Residential students should include a letter of recommendation from a professional staff member in Residence Life at their undergraduate institution.
