About Us Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. Department Information The Department of English teaches a range of classes in core curriculum and offers a B.A. in English with concentrations in Literature, Creative Writing, Professional Writing, Secondary Teacher Certification, Pre-Law, and Generalist studies. The Department also offers graduate certificate and M.A. programs in Professional and Technical Writing, and minors in Creative Writing and Professional Writing. English faculty are exceptionally dynamic, accomplished, and highly qualified. We offer classes through different delivery methods (face-to-face, online, video-conference, etc.) and reside in MGA’s School of Arts & Letters, which also has degree programs in History, Art and Applied Design, Interdisciplinary Studies, Contemporary Musicianship, Media and Communication, Modern Language, Music, and Core Curriculum. We also have an M.A. in Public Relations. Job Summary MGA’s English Department seeks qualified part-time instructors on five campuses (Macon, Cochran, Warner Robins, Dublin and online). Part-time positions involve a teaching load of 1-2 courses in first-year English, possibly including developmental Learning Support English.Required Qualifications
Minimum of a master’s degree in English or related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in English.
Preferred QualificationsTeaching experience, particularly in composition and developmental English; experience with online and/or hybrid delivery of instruction.
