Eastern Connecticut State University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach. This position is a part-time 10-month contract.

Under the supervision of the Athletic Director and the Head Coach, assistant coaching duties will be assigned by head coach and will include administration, coaching, and recruiting for the ESCU Swimming program.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the teaching and supervision of student-athletes. Demonstrate competency in sport skill instruction, motivation, and the ability to conduct practice sessions under the direction of the head coach. Assist with recruiting prospective student-athletes under the direction of the head coach. Adhere to all sport governing, department, and institutional rules and policies. Demonstrate a sincere interest in the personal, academic and athletic progress of student-athletes. Exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior pursuing sport program goals set by the head coach. Demonstrate leadership ability and professional behavior when dealing with student-athletes. Efficiently and effectively complete tasks assigned by the head coach

Qualifications 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
  • Previous competitive collegiate swimming or coaching experience
  • Working knowledge of the sport and ability to demonstrate, critique and develop safe swimming skills and practices.  Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills, experience with Microsoft office.
  • First Aid/AED/CPR Certification or ability to obtain before September 26th, 2022
  • Ability to pass background check

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience swimming and/or coaching at NCAA Division III level
