Job Description PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Multimedia Specialist IV will be responsible for performing all request and responsibilities related to multimedia and audio-visual production of instructional and promotional materials using appropriate graphics software packages and media equipment. He or She will develop, design, and code web pages to deliver instructional resources to faculty on a regular basis, as well as offer one-on-one support on various software, including LMS and Peoplesoft to faculty and staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Produce graphics for flyers, signs, charts, graphs, overhead projector materials, and artworks in various forms for the Faculty and Staff Center.Design and develop websites and edit web content to deliver up to date articles of interest to assist faculty in the classroom.Develop instructional materials for use in the classroom with the collaboration of the subject matter expert in the form of video, presentations, interactive media, graphics, info-graphics, and multimedia projects.Serve as the point of contact for just-in-time training and support of organizational software systems including iStar (Peoplesoft) and Brightspace by D2L for both faculty and Staff.Manage the workflow of projects and those delegated to student workers from conception to completion ensuring that projects are completed successfully and in a timely manner.Coordinate and direct media equipment services of the assigned Department. Assist and instruct faculty and students in the operation of audio-visual equipment.Coordinate and direct instructional and non-instructional media equipment services of assigned department.File and archive projects into databases.Develop step by step instructions on numerous topics to assist with the execution of different processes in D2L and iStar for faculty.Plan, design, and produce the brand identity for new programs rolled out by the faculty and staff center.Organize and coordinate the video production process from beginning to end including but not limited to video production, editing, and special effects.Collaborate and act as a subject matter expert for a variety of tools and software for instructional purposes.Work independently with the collaboration of the subject matter expert to develop & design instructional materials including graphics, animations and/or videos for use in face-to-face or online classroom environment, as well as a limited amount of external content, following branding guidelines.Evaluate and recommend the purchase of media equipment based on immediate and anticipated needs incorporating newest technologies.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipmentInterface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the positionWork is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED and at least 5 years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Hiring salary range is $34,670-$39,871

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
