The Office of Enrollment Management Communications at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UTK) invites applications and nominations for our Recruitment Outreach Coordinator position. We are seeking candidates who can contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.

 

The Position:

This is an on-campus position with some hybrid/remote work schedule flexibility.

Develop content for websites, admissions recruitment platforms, marketing emails and SMS texts in CRM systems for the Division of Enrollment Management (EM). Contribute to admissions recruitment tactics by developing content for target audiences including prospective students,

parents, and high school counselors. Develop strategic email and SMS communication plans for admissions recruitment and outreach efforts to target

audiences (listed above). Create content for websites and multiple email and SMS communications plans to strategic audiences. Lead project requirements, delivery of assets, and production timelines. Develop schedule of email and text sends, confirm scheduling with stakeholders, and monitor deployments for completion and deliverability. Monitor email calendar to ensure optimal email frequency and cadence.

 



Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree

• Minimum 2+ years of professional experience, including internship or practicum experience, related to duties and responsibilities:

• Experience with email distribution programs.

• Experience with Mac operating systems, and Microsoft Office.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
 

Preferred Education and Experience:

Experience using:

• Experience with HTML editors and coding.

• Familiarity with databases and list management.

• Slate CRM

• Asana or a similar project management system

• Banner

• Emma, MailChimp, Constant Contact or other similar email marketing platform

• SCOIR, Intersect, College Greenlight, Campus Reel, or other college recruitment platforms
 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of web, email, and SMS text marketing best practices.

• Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects from a variety of stakeholders.

• Must exhibit exceptional attention to detail and have the ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

• Must have the ability to learn, be flexible to change, and be innovative.

• Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at various levels with a variety of backgrounds.

• Ability to be creative and proactive yet disciplined, in order to prioritize workload.

• Willingness to cross-train and learn other skills from EM Communications team members.

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to work with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and WordPress.

• Knowledge of higher education workflow.

• Knowledge and understanding of one or more production disciplines: print, digital, and broadcast (multi-media).

• Sound knowledge of Slate CRM system and Asana project management system.

• Knowledge of social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat, and TikTok.

• Knowledge of university style and communications standards.

• Ability to develop content for different audiences and maintain the same brand/voice regardless of target audience.

The Enrollment Management (EM) division comprises more than 170 full-time staff who serve our students through the following departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment, Transfer Center, One Stop Student Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships, University Registrar, EM Communications, and Research & Analytics. The Office of Enrollment Management is committed to our Vision, Mission and Values.
