We offer BSBA, MBA, and MSA degrees and our School of Hospitality Management offers both a BS in Hospitality Management and an MS in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality. We are one of the largest Colleges of Business in the state with approximately 4,200 undergraduate and 900 graduate students. To date, the COB has approximately 150 faculty members of the highest caliber, skilled in the scholarship of research, teaching, and application of knowledge. The Department of MIS with the College of Business at ECU has 23 faculty members and offers courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Job Duties :

The Department of Management Information Systems within the College of Business at East Carolina University has a full-time, tenure-track position available beginning August 2023 with the possibility of beginning January 2023.
The successful candidate will teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in Management Information Systems and Data Analytics. Online teaching is probable. The successful candidate will be able to teach in a variety of management information systems concentration areas such as database, programming, systems analysis or networking. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment and a proven record of excellence in teaching. Candidates will perform scholarly research leading to publications in the area(s) of specialization as required for tenure, be expected to provide service to the university, community and profession, and other services/duties as assigned by the department chair.

Minimum Education/Experience :

Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems, Business/Data Analytics, or related disciplines from an appropriately accredited institution that satisfies credentialing under SACS guidelines and AACSB standards. Candidates with Ph.D. conferred at the time of initial appointment will hold the probationary rank of Assistant Professor. ABD candidates will also be initially appointed with the probationary term rank of Assistant Professor and must have the terminal degree conferred prior to their first reappointment.

Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching and/or research background in any of the following: Systems Analysis and Design and Implementation, Databases, Programming, Networking, Data Architecture, Data Analytics, Data Mining, Big Data, Cybersecurity, or other current issues in the field.
