Responsibilities
  • Primary position responsible for course scheduling and registration for the department. Works with the department chair to develop department’s course schedule each semester based on faculty AORs. Assists students with registration issues and questions as well as Drop/Add , class and grade rosters. Monitor course registration numbers and caps in conjunction with the Dean’s office. Monitors grade entry and works with faculty to ensure grades are entered by the deadline. Handles curriculum requests and maintenance issues as well as enters textbook information each semester.
  • Works with Academic Technology team to assist faculty in prepping semesterly course sites and importing course materials. Assist online teaching faculty with scheduling exam makeups, academic dishonesty issues, and general questions. Helps faculty with course maintenance and management to ensure compliance with university policy and procedures. Works to recruit, onboard, and train mentors for online class offerings. Serves as department’s point of contact for students providing guidance on academic courses, licensure/certifications, and professional development liaising with the Center for Professional Success and the Undergrad and Grad offices as needed. Promote the academic offerings of the department. Hold information sessions and meet with prospective students and their families to answer questions regarding the department’s programs.
  • Enter and manage faculty AORs for the department. Work with Department Chair to produce faculty annual reviews. Oversee and manage FACET each semester for department faculty.
  • Serves as initial point of contact and ambassador of the department for students and visitors. Responsible for coordinating office responsibilities, hiring work study students, copying exams, and collecting syllabi. Manages department scholarship process and awards. Assists with faculty hiring process. Troubleshoots any problems arising in the department and handles other responsibilities as defined by the chairperson.
  • Promote and assist with department guest speakers and student focused events. Assist Department Chair in planning and supporting department advisory board meetings. Assist with creation of news and promotional materials for the department as well as aid in it’s social media presence.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to six years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to utilize problem solving skills.
