Position overview Salary range: Starting at $56,945 Percent time: Positions range from 33% to 100% each semester. Summer Sessions Lecturer appointments are part time and weighed at 50%. Anticipated start: Positions usually start at the beginning of the semester (in mid-January for Spring Semester; in mid-August for Fall Semester). Summer appointments begin in late May and run into early August. Typically, the Division reviews applications for summer and fall teaching in February/March, and applications for spring teaching in October/November. Application Window

Position description
The Division of Arts and Humanities at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a pool of outstanding lecturers to teach Digital Humanities courses should an opening arise during the academic year, as well as, lecturers to teach in the Summer Minor in the Digital Humanities.

In addition to instruction, general duties include holding office hours, developing syllabi and assignments, writing and grading exams, and grading and commenting on papers. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

For those who are not US citizens or permanent residents, a legal permit that allows work in the United States (such as a US visa that allows employment) is required by start date of the position. The Division is unable to provide a visa/work permit.

Completed master's degree (or equivalent international degree).
Preferred qualifications
Topics vary, and a background in digital humanities and the relevant field is strongly preferred. College level teaching experience in the relevant field is also preferred.
