POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for placement and onboarding of applicants into the Career Certified program. Develop employment plans for participants and work closely with career planners and other staff at Workforce Services Division (WSD) of Will County to prepare participants for training and the workforce. Provides support services, employment readiness and retention, and other services required to assist grant program participants in attaining job skills, occupational training in a high growth/high demand industry, with the goal of entering and/or retaining self-sustaining employment. Job location will be at the Workforce Services building.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinate enrollment into Career Certified program; collect participant documentation, prepare referral records and add, track and report enrollment data.
2. Assess participants and determine appropriate training, retraining, and employment needs; design individualized training and employment plans.
3. Conduct follow-up, monitor and approve participant involvement in required activities; recommend and/or take actions in compliance with grant program requirements.
4. Develop relationships with local economic and community development groups, chamber of commerce, units of government, business, labor, community-based organizations, etc. to build workforce development partnerships, identify job leads and recommend employment sites to clients.
5. Prepare participants for the workforce with all aspects of implementing a successful job search including resume writing, interviewing, and job-search techniques and strategies.
6. Maintain case files for each client, prepare weekly and monthly reports and required forms for review and approval. Submit weekly activity reports for each student to the WSD office.
7. Serve as the JJC department liaison with the local WSD of Will County office staff. Provide updates, attendance, employment information/reports as requested or required. Maintain positive, collaborative relationships with WSD staff.
8. Assist with testing and instruct work readiness workshops as needed.
9. Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s Degree or in lieu of Bachelor's Degree; must have Associate's Degree or equivalent, plus two (2) years' experience.
2. Strong personal computer and technology skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
3. Strong interpersonal, communication, time, project management and organizational skills.
4. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
5. Demonstrated commitment to the college’s core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. National Career Readiness Certificate
2. Three (3) years of work experience in higher education, grant and/or Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs.
3. Experience working with individuals with barriers to employment.
4. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
5. Demonstrated multicultural competence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Normal office physical demands.
2. Ability to travel between campus locations and to and from community events.
3. Ability to travel in state and nationally.

WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Duties are performed indoors in the usual office and/or outdoor environment.
