The Department of Psychiatry of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine is seeking to hire a full-time faculty member to fill the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry in the Division of Adult Psychiatry.  The incumbent will cover SIU Psychiatry inpatient and outpatient clinical sites in communities such as Decatur, Springfield, and/or Jacksonville, partnering with hospitals and agencies in these communities.  The ability to provide ECT is essential.  The incumbent will also be responsible for instruction of students, residents and other allied health professionals as well as participation in clinical and didactic training and establish lines of research.

Qualified applicants will have an M.D. or D.O. degree, must have completed four years of approved residency training in psychiatry.  Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in General Psychiatry within three years of hire and maintain board certification.  Applicants must be eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois.  Applicants must have sufficient experience in ECT or willing to undergo training to be privileged at teaching hospitals and must be trained or agree to be trained in TMS therapy and Esketamine.  Applicants must have experience providing services to multicultural populations; experience dealing with underrepresented minority populations; and be sensitive to the needs of minority populations.  This position has been designated as security sensitive and employment is contingent upon the result of a criminal background investigation.  Deadline for receipt of applications will be until filled.
