To improve our efforts, CSU Office of Engagement and Extension seeks a Senior Instructional Designer who will coordinate, inspire, and lead our instructional designers and course developers in addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the course development queue. The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for coordinating course and learning objective development and supervising members of the course development team.


Minimum Qualifications:
•    Master’s degree in instructional design, curriculum and instruction, educational technology, instructional systems, education, or closely related field by the time of hire
•    At least five (5) years of work experience in the field of instructional design or course development at the time of hire
•    Experience supervising or mentoring student, contract, and/or full-time employees on a course development or instructional design team
•    Experience developing instructional materials for learning management systems (e.g. Canvas, Blackboard, etc.) for the delivery of online instruction
•    Strong understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and instructional technology
•    Demonstrated experience incorporating online curriculum standards into instructional design practices (e.g. Quality Matters, Quality Scorecard)
•    Experience designing and maintaining instructional materials and guidelines for face-to-face and online workshops targeted to faculty and staff focused on quality assurance standards and best practices in online course design
•    Experience with project management software (e.g. Smartsheets, Quickbase, Asana, etc.)
•    Demonstrated expertise and/or industry certification in at least two of the following domains, to be demonstrated during the interview process
o    Quality Assurance
o    Inclusivity and Accessibility
o    Learning Engagement
o    Continuing and Professional Education
•    The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; The Office of Engagement and Extension will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
•    Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date.
