The School of Music at Illinois Wesleyan University invites applications for an Instrumental Conducting position with a 3-year visiting appointment (continuation subject to annual performance reviews, with the potential for renewal), to begin January 1, 2023. POSITION: Illinois Wesleyan is a highly selective undergraduate liberal arts university of approximately 1650 students. The School of Music offers a comprehensive music program and is an accredited institutional member of NASM. The successful applicant will direct the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, teach courses in conducting and applied lessons in the area of expertise, and contribute to the goals and mission of the School. The successful applicant will actively engage in all recruitment activities of the School of Music. QUALIFICATIONS AND SALARY: Candidates must have a record of distinguished and active teaching and artistic or scholarly achievement. An earned doctoral degree in Music or commensurate experience is preferred. The successful candidate should demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across the School. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
