The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking candidates for a non-tenure track position at the level of Research Assistant Professor. This is a twelve-month, non-tenure accruing, time-limited faculty position available at the Florida Institute for Cybersecurity (FCIS) Research in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering and the University of Florida. Initial appointment will be for two years with annual re-appointments based on performance and available funding.

The preferred candidate will have experience in hardware security research, particularly in the areas of hardware security and assurance, as well as risk management and integrity in the cyber supply chain, especially in the domain of IP/IC supply chain security and system-on-chip trust assurance. The candidate should also have a strong understanding of state-of-the-art hardware-related security threats/countermeasures and their impacts across the hardware design. Emphasis on designing and prototyping security solutions in the ASIC/FPGA at both IP/SoC levels is desired. Experience in research and development, and collaborations between academia, industry, and government entities are also highly preferred. The candidate is also expected to co-supervise PhD students in the laboratory, as well as develop and write new research proposals to obtain external research funding.

Duties will include, but not be limited to, conducting research on IP protection techniques and system-level and high-level design for trusted and secure architectures, IC supply chain threat mitigations, micro-architectural security analysis, secure SoC integration and verification, and building trusted environment at different layers of design abstraction as well as mentoring master and PhD students, and writing proposals for industry/government-level funding agencies. Primary responsibilities will also include project management and working collaboratively with FICS Research faculty, as well as with their sponsors and partners to manage grant-funded projects and establish new pathways to future collaborations.

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess a PhD in electrical/computer engineering or a related field and at least 1 year of post-doctoral work experience and/or some project management or teaching experience.
