Job Description:

Budget Title: Senior Programmer Analyst (SL-4)

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Binghamton University is looking for a Senior Windows Systems Administrator to join our Enterprise Systems team which is a part of the Enterprise Systems and Applications group. The Enterprise Systems and Applications group is responsible for the University systems infrastructure and the development and support of many of the Universities' online systems. The Systems team identifies and builds solutions that are reliable, scalable, and based on proven technologies by vendors such as Microsoft, VMware, Oracle, RedHat and many others.

The Senior Windows Systems Administrator will be responsible for all aspects of Microsoft Windows domain administration. Initially the successful candidate will be responsible for validating, further developing, and implementing the Systems Center Configuration Management (SCCM) environment for the University. Additional responsibilities will be supporting the University file servers, Microsoft SQL database infrastructure, VDI infrastructure, end user support, and system administration services in support of the University students, faculty, researchers, and staff. The ideal candidate will have experience with Windows domain tools and PowerShell scripting.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or an Associate's Degree with 3 years of Windows domain administration
• Experience working in a Windows domain infrastructure and knowledge of Active Directory structure and processes
• Working knowledge of computer hardware, software, programming languages, and educational systems
• Must be able to interpret and apply technical configuration specifications for servers, server operating systems, networked data storage, and disaster recovery systems
• Strong documentation skills
• Experience working in a large complex organization
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical skills, ability to work in a team environment, and ability to deal with ambiguity in a changing business environment

Preferred:

• Experience working in a higher education or research environment
• Experience with SCCM
• Experience with relational database systems and SQL
• Experience integrating vendor systems
• Experience with Linux OS's, VMware ESX, and VMWare VDI
• Proficiency with enterprise information systems, file servers, networked data storage, application software, disaster recovery utilities
• Experience working with Ellucian Banner Student systems
