 Job Title:        Administrative Assistant for Student Health & Wellness Center            

Reports To:    Executive Director of Student Health & Wellness

Status:            Non-Exempt, Full-Time- Hourly                 

 

General Description

The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to Counseling Services and to the Student Wellness Center as needed. Supports the offices with attention to both customer service and operational efficiency.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide administrative support to Counseling Services daily and to the Student Wellness Center as needed (e.g. budget support). The person will be housed in Counseling Services Department;
  2. Maintain calendars and appointments;
  3. Assist in managing budget lines;
  4. Maintain professional correspondences via email, traditional mail, and faxes;
  5. Manage documents for student files;
  6. Organize mailings and handouts for students and staff;
  7. Make room reservations, work orders, and IT tickets;
  8. Greet students who walk in to the office and schedule appointments;
  9. Assist in the oversight of work-study students;
  10. Maintain office supplies and outreach/promotional items;
  11. Assist in the coordination of office events;
  12. Assist in the organization and tracking of departmental statistics;
  13. Adhere to all FERPA, NY State, Federal and College regulations and policies regarding confidentiality and other relevant areas;
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required
  2. Excellent communication skills- written and verbal
  3. Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
  4. Ability to prioritize projects and strong problem-solving skills
  5. Ability to work in a fast paced environment

It's less than a mile from the intersection of the New York State Thruway and Interstate 84, and just a few blocks from entrance to the Newburgh side of the Beacon-Newburgh Bridge. The Mount is also easily accessible by plane, with Stewart Airport just minutes from campus. The Mid-Hudson Valley offers a scope of unparalleled natural beauty in a landscape of mountains, river and forest. Hiking, biking, walking, swimming, mountain climbing, skiing, snowboarding, and our park activities offer so many ways to explore the natural environment.

Enrollment/Student Body Profile. Our student body is made up of 2,700+ students representing over 16 states and several countries. 1,800 are traditional undergraduate students.

Academic Programs. The Mount offers 50 undergraduate programs leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. Our collaboration programs offer you a chance to earn a bachelor's degree, plus an advanced degree with schools like Fordham University, Pace University, and New York Medical College. The college also offers master's degrees in education, business, and nursing.

Faculty. Students learn from our faculty, the majority of whom hold a Ph.D. or the highest terminal degree in their field. Our Student/Faculty Ratio is 17 students:1 faculty member.
