Senior Research Program Coordinator
We are seeking a Senior Research Program Coordinator who will manage multiple research and dissemination projects related to child and community mental health, including but not limited to multiple projects that fall under the auspices of the Maryland Behavioral Health Integration in Pediatric Primary Care (BHIPP) Program. Across projects, the individual will be responsible for creating and monitoring project timelines; developing work plans; collaborating with staff at multiple research sites; oversight of data collection activities; working closely with colleagues responsible for evaluation; and assisting in preparation and editing of scientific products of the research.

For the BHIPP program specifically, the individual will lead coordination of outreach and training efforts and will be responsible for development and maintenance of outreach and training materials. The RPM will also work with the evaluation lead to both design and execute evaluation activities (e.g., collection of qualitative and quantitative data via interviews and surveys). The RPM will be assisted by the project's research data manager and research assistant(s).

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the coordination and documentation of project functions.
  • Assist with development and ongoing maintenance of standard operating procedures and work plans.
  • Monitor project budgets and allocation of project resources.
  • Assure team productivity; develop and lead improvements in team functioning as required.
  • Responsible for hiring, orientation, training, and oversight of research staff.
  • Supervise one or more members of the research team.
  • Responsible for overall effective and efficient management of program activities.
  • Communicate regularly with principal investigators and collaborators to review overall study progress.
  • Establish regular communication systems between program sectors (e.g., between Hopkins site and University of Maryland site of the BHIPP program).
  • Develop and maintain community relations, including but not limited to relations with primary care providers located in practices around the state of Maryland.
  • Represent BHIPP in the public sphere (e.g., conferences, training events, etc.)
  • Manage marketing efforts, program e-newsletter, website development and maintenance, and social media maintenance.
  • Oversee program evaluation activities.
  • Assist with preparation of grant proposals, IRB proposals, peer-reviewed manuscripts, conference presentations, and progress reports to funding agencies and other stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline
  • Three (3) years related experience. Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.*

* JHU Equivalency Formula: 18 graduate degree credits (semester hours) may substitute for one year of experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

** Applicants who do not meet the posted requirements but are completing their final academic semester/quarter will be considered eligible for employment and may be asked to provide additional information confirming their academic completion date.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree or higher training in Child Psychology, Social Work, or Public Health preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

  • Experience with state funded projects/multisite research projects preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to sit in a normal seated position for extended periods.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
