Job Description:


POSITION: Part Time Dental Assisting Lab Assistant: Division of Health Professions, approximately 12 hours per week during the fall semester, Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00AM - 12:00PM; Non-Unit, not benefited position.


SUMMARY: Assists in the instruction of dental assisting students.


RESPONSIBILITIES: Activities include infection control, four-handed dentistry techniques, chairside assisting with general and specialty dentistry techniques, mixing of dental materials, coronal polishing and assisting with the application of topical fluoride and dental sealants.



Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Must be a graduate of an accredited dental assisting or dental hygiene program, currently certified or licensed in Massachusetts.
  • Knowledge of four-handed chairside assisting skills required.
  • Candidate must possess good organizational, verbal and written skills.
  • Work experience required.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work as a team member.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Computer skills.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse, urban population


Additional Information:


SALARY: $28.00/hour Non-benefited position
