Job Description Summary
This position provides technical support, customer service, and general office support to the Employment Connections team. This position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing our web-based employment information system, Handshake and is responsible for the planning/coordination of career-related fairs/events.

Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Responsible for processing job orders, approving employers, posting job fairs and other events in Handshake.
• Communicates daily with employers to generate new job orders, referrals for on-campus recruitments, and registrations for job fairs.
• Responsible for all Employment Connections scheduling, including staff meetings, conferences, and appointments/presentations for all Employment Advising staff.
• Works in partnership with internal/external partners to plan virtual/in-person career fair. This process can include scheduling, making reservations, updating marketing documents, and assisting with employer/student registration on Handshake.
• Provides daily direct customer service to students, staff, outside agencies, and the general public.
• Directs and assists students in their search for employment and career-related information. Provides technical assistance to students on the use of computer workstations, software applications, and internet sites.
• Responsible for all purchasing requests for the department, managing the FVTC procurement card, and reconciling monthly statements with Accounts Payable.
• Participates and contributes to team planning and marketing related to the promotion of Employment Connections' events, activities, and operational planning.
• Collecting/ converting numerical/categorical data from various sources into functional documents that will be used to analyze student outcomes, wage information, and local/statewide employment trends.
• Coordinates with internal staff/faculty members and local partners to plan/organize resume reviews and mock interview sessions/events for students and community partners.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS
Presents information on department resources, including Handshake, to various student/community groups.
Assists with maintaining and updating the Employment Connections Webpage.
Proofreads materials sent by the department to external/internal customers.

Additional Information
QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
• Associate Degree in Administrative Assistant, Marketing, or related area, AND
• Two years of recent, relevant work experience, OR
• An equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.
• Knowledge of social media platforms, database management, and email marketing programs is required.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of current employment trends.

Starting pay: $20.90 per hour. Note: Internal applicants' wage will be based upon the applicable compensation structure.
