Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for providing leadership to the Student Finance area and will oversee functions including: fee assessment, payment and refund processing, billing and collection activities. The Student Finance Manager is accountable for the effective use of processes and the development and/or improvement of procedures related to Student Finance. This position will also serve as a point of contact for both internal and external customers, provide interpretation and analysis of state and federal regulations, and act as the liaison between end users, technical staff and functional analysts in regards to day-to-day functions.

Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Provide leadership of the day-to-day operations of Student Finance.
In collaboration with the Director, plan and organize the operations and activities of the Student Finance area with an emphasis on compliance and service to customers.
• Provide leadership and supervision to the Student Finance team.
• Investigate, recommend and lead the implementation of new uses of technology and other tools or system improvements to increase efficiency and quality related to all aspects of Student Financial Services.
• Work collaboratively with all necessary areas of the College to support state and federal regulatory compliance related to Student Finance activities.
• Ensure compliance with college, state and federal regulations and standard accounting guidelines. Keep abreast of changes in the field.
• Complete and/or assist with reporting requirements regarding Federal, State or agency requests.
• Assist with various audits and reviews (Federal Department of Education, Federal Department of Veteran Affairs, Wisconsin Technical College System, etc.).
• Serve as liaison to Regional Center staff regarding Student Finance activities, providing assistance with information requests, problem solving, and communications.
• Support analysts, IT staff, and functional staff as needed in the setup and administration of the Student Administration system.
• Develop and maintain Student Finance queries, reports and processes from various information systems using appropriate tools to troubleshoot.
• Organize, analyze, interpret, and report data for internal and external customers.
• Create and/or maintain policy and procedure documentation as well as train staff on an ongoing basis using established standards.
• Lead Student Financial Services staff in assessing internal controls.
• Redesign process as appropriate to eliminate internal control weaknesses.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS
• Cross-train and provide backup within Student Financial Services.
• Provide assistance with various Student Financial Services activities.
• Collaborate with functional users, analysts and IT staff in the resolution of problems affecting day-to-day operations.
• Serve as primary liaison between the parties.
• Initiate updates or new content to Student Finance website(s).

Additional Information
QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or another related field, AND
• Three years of recent and related work experience, as well as three years of supervisory experience, OR
• An equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.
• Demonstrated experience in process improvement is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Higher Education ERP systems is desired.

Pay: $62,900 - $94,300 per year. Pay is based on a multitude of factors, including experience, qualifications, education, relevant certifications, internal equity, and market data. Note: Internal applicants' wage will be based upon the applicable compensation structure.
