Position Information: Description

The purpose of this position it to prepare, produce and serve products in the cold foods department in a safe, sanitary and efficient manner.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepares all salad, desserts, and accompaniments for meals
  • Replenishes service lines as needed
  • Correctly uses and maintains all equipment provided to complete tasks
  • Prepares all the condiments for the dining room
  • Follows large quantity recipes and scales recipes up or down as needed
  • Follows and completes production sheets and service summaries
  • Assists in the preparation and plating of desserts
  • Sets up and maintains the salad and condiment bars for all meals
  • Prepares food in batches to meet deadlines and to avoid over production
  • Prepares products for catering and special events
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Responsible for maintaining high standard of cleanliness and sanitation in the production and storage of food
  • Maintains a working knowledge of health and safety rules involved in the work
  • Stores leftover salads and desserts after meal service following proper procedures
  • Follows UND and State Safety, Sanitation, and HACCP Policies and procedures.
  • Work with the preparation and disposal of fish, poultry, beef, lamb, pork, and other meat products
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies which includes removal of all jewelry and piercings (plain wedding band is permissible) and wearing hair and beard restraints

  • Will use basic math skills to complete required paperwork
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with reading and following basic directions
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.

Preferred Qualifications
  • One year or less large quantity food production experience
  • ServSafe Certified
Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

$14.33 / hour. Wage will increase to $15.00/hour after successful six-month review.

Full-time, Benefited, Non-Exempt

Work Schedule/Start Date

Monday - Friday 10:30am - 7:00pm or 12:30pm - 9:00pm with rotating weekends
