Job Summary:

The Technical Support Specialist II reports to the Director of Systems, Applications, and Support. Responsible for campus wide Personal Computer support including Help Desk. Learns new operating systems and software. Supervises one or more Student employees. Perform other duties as assigned. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, see, bend, twist and walk.

The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly carry up to 35 pounds, and move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to operate a personal computer. Normal office environment. Work is often performed in other offices. Occasional high stress/emergency situations where quick problem resolutions must be provided.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited two-year college or university with major course work in a related area. Two years experience on jobs leading to this, or similar jobs. Experience and training can be substituted for education.

Preferred Qualifications:

Able to analyze and solve problems. Knowledge of computer hardware and software. Knowledge of microcomputer applications. Knowledge of microcomputer hardware and software trends. High degree of communication skills, written and spoken. Ability to supervise staff. Able to deal with students, faculty and staff in professional manner. Must be able to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds. Able to plan, schedule, and manage projects and assignments. Able to establish effective working relationships with others. Able to promote the campus image. Able to follow established college policies and procedures.


$46,350 Annual Salary, 12 month Staff with benefits

Work Hours:

40 hours a week; Some overtime may be required.
