Lake Forest College is accepting applications for the position of F.A.N. Club and Athletic Programming Coordinator.

The chosen candidate will support the mission of the College and athletic department, which includes intercollegiate varsity athletics, club sports, intramurals, physical education, and recreation. The position, which is ideal for someone desiring to work in a collegiate athletics environment, will offer the chosen candidate an opportunity to engage in several aspects of intercollegiate athletic administration. The nature of the position is such that a considerable amount of evening and weekend work will be necessary.

The College sponsors 25 intercollegiate varsity sport programs with approximately 425 student-athletes competing annually. Lake Forest is a member of NCAA Division III, the Midwest Conference (MWC), the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA), the Midwest/Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference (MLC/MWLC) and the United States Handball Association (USHA). The College is an affiliate member of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) for men’s and women’s golf. Learn more about Forester Athletics.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position will provide opportunities and responsibilities in the area of athletic administration and athletic department support that include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting all aspects of the F.A.N. Club (the athletic department’s booster club) and athletic alumni correspondence/programming. This will include, but is not limited to, oversight of F.A.N. Club membership and communications, special events (Golf Outing, Homecoming, Alumni Contests, etc.), and alumni and community engagement efforts.

  • Working with the Athletics Senior Management Team to support programming and operations by completing departmental projects, compiling annual reports, organizing and maintaining key departmental calendars/documents, assisting with departmental special events and/or other duties as assigned.

  • Serving as the primary administrative point person for the Athletic Council/SAAC (student-athlete advisory committee) and Forester Fanatics (student fan group).

  • Managing the athletic department office by supervising student workers, managing the front desk, ordering office supplies, and other related duties that enhance the overall office workflow.

  • Aiding in the day-to-day operations of intercollegiate athletic sport administration (game contracts, compliance documents, transportation, contest administration, student-athlete overnight recruiting visits, etc.).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited college or university. Candidates must have the ability to relate effectively to student-athletes, coaches, and the College community, demonstrate strong leadership and excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be a self-starter. The successful candidate must also possess time management and organizational skills and be willing to work effectively within a team environment, bringing energy and initiative to all aspects of their job responsibilities.

The successful candidate must be proficient with computers and media, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite, modern CRM systems, Adobe Suite, etc.

Salary and Benefits

This is a full-time position with salary and benefits. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Hiring will be contingent on a successful background check and receipt of academic transcripts.
