Job Summary

This Faculty member facilitates teaching and learning in the classroom, laboratory and clinical setting in the Physician Assistant Program. This is a full-time Faculty (FAC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provides instruction in the Associate of Science and Bachelor of Applied Science courses
  • Participates in curriculum development and revision
  • Serves on School, Campus and College committees
  • Recruits, advises and evaluates students
  • Prepares and submits student information to Department Chairperson
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in a Health Sciences field (e.g., Health Science, Medicine, Nursing, Physician Assisting, Public Health); and Physician Assistants must possess valid national certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Ability to function well in a technological environment that includes using classroom and office multimedia resources
  • Ability to demonstrate effective use of active learning and problem solving techniques
  • Possess excellent communication skills and ablity to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community and in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
  • Possess excellent organizational and human relations skills
  • Willingness to work on multiple campuses/outreach locations
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
  • Doctoral stipend awarded in addition to base salary, as applicable
  • Start date for this Faculty position is anticipated to begin on or before August 18, 2022

  • Certified Physician Asistant preferred
