American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on an 88+ acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campus has 42 buildings on two sites approximately 1/2 mile apart with a total of approximately 888,000 gross square feet. Included in the inventory of buildings are student residences for a resident population of 900 students. Founded in 1885, the College has approximately 2200 graduate and undergraduate students. AIC sponsors a total of 24 varsity NCAA teams and one varsity club team. Most compete at the NCAA Division II level; however, the men's ice hockey team is an NCAA Division I member of the Atlantic Hockey Conference. AIC is a proud member of the Northeast-10 Conference for most of its NCAA Division II offerings. Wrestling and Men's Volleyball are an NCAA Division II Independent. In addition, the College sponsors rugby for both men and women; the men currently compete in the Liberty Conference while the women compete in the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association Conference.

Job Description:


  • Supervise the successful completion of assigned Event/Games for specific AIC/Outside Rentals making the appropriate decisions in the moment

  • Manage all recruitment, hiring, training and assignments for student workers for internal and external events and/or competitions.

  • Supervise and Manage the set-up for each assigned event using sound judgment

  • Oversee the in-season weekly practice schedule to ensure all schedules are correct

  • Responsible for following AIC contracts for home contests, and disseminate the visiting team guides for the upcoming opponents.

  • Work with campus police to ensure safety and security of all athletic facilities and events

  • Assists with turf field lighting schedule

  • Other duties as assigned.



Requirements:


  • Required Degree(s): Bachelor's degree

  • Preferred Degree(s): Master's degree

  • Required Licensure(s): Valid, insurable driver's license


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


  • Ability to work in a diverse environment

  • CPR/AED

  • Organized, with the ability to meet deadlines

  • Interact with vendors for orders/ deliveries

  • Technological aptitude - scoreboards, Excel

  • Ability to make sound decisions in the moment

Work Schedule


This is a full-time, exempt level, benefits-eligible position scheduled for 35 hours per week. Normal office hours are 8:30 am - 4:30 pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch break, flexible to the needs of the department. Evening, weekend, and holiday event work is required.
