Visiting Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Data Analytics

The Thiel College Department of Mathematics and Computer Science seeks a vibrant faculty member for a non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor in Computer Science to commence in August 2022.

A Ph.D. in Computer Science is preferred. Applicants who are ABD will be considered if completion of the terminal degree is imminent. Candidates with M.S. degrees will be considered for a lectureship position. Preference will be given to candidates who have previous experience teaching courses in Computer Systems at the college level, or have educational and research background in Data Science.

The duties associated with this position are to teach 24 credit hours of classes each academic year, advise students, and participate in service to the Department and College. While this position is primarily focused on Computer Science, the successful applicant is expected to advise students in Computer Science and Data Analytics programs.

A dedicated passion for helping students reach their full potential in a supportive and inclusive diverse environment is essential to this position. Responsibilities include teaching, advising, and professional development. While Thiel College gives highest priority to teaching effectiveness, the faculty will be expected to remain current in the field through professional development opportunities such as attendance at related conferences, research, or other scholarly activities.
