Requisition Number:40316Location: Boulder, Colorado Employment Type:Temporary StaffSchedule:Part-TimePosting Close Date:06-Jul-2022Date Posted:29-Jun-2022 Close All Job SummaryThe Department of Applied Mathematics is hiring a Temporary Finance Assistant to help audit accounts, ensure compliance with approved budgets and policies, and assist in the oversite of the financial operations of the departmental and general budgets. This position will ensure expenditures are within the scope of the project budget by checking award documents and proposal submissions. This is a part-time position, providing support between 10-20 hour per week.

It has 23 tenured or tenure track faculty. In addition there are 10 full time instructors, more than 110 graduate students including approximately 40 teaching assistants, about 179 applied math majors, 109 statistics majors, 105 minors and a thriving Bachelor's-Accelerated Master's program. The Department strives to be a leading program of applied mathematics. In 2018, the US News & World Report ranked the unit’s graduate program 14th in the nation. The unit also ranked positively in many measures by the National Research Council in its 2010 decadal survey.What You Should Know

- This is a hybrid position and certain tasks may be done remotely following the training period.
- This is a temporary, part-time position.
- All University of Colorado Boulder employees are required to comply with the campus COVID-19 vaccine requirement.
- New employees must provide proof of vaccination or receive a medical or religious exemption within 30 days of employment.
- Salary: $20 - $35 per hour.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- At least one year of accounting or grant management experience.
- Proficient computer knowledge and skills with Adobe Acrobat and MS Office applications, particularly with Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with a variety of professionals, administrators, and students.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and assume responsibility for initiating and completing critical functions in the management of educational programs.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and within other collaborative work situations.
- Previous experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to learn the process of pulling M-fins reports, understanding how to read them, and knowing which reports to use to audit accounts monthly.
- A current resume.
