Champlain College Student Health and Wellness seeks a highly motivated person to join the Champlain College Counseling team in the role of Clinician and Integrated Care Provider. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing therapeutic groups as well as psychoeducation groups, and providing clinical case management support for students who are struggling with mental health and or emotional challenges by offering brief solution-focused interventions, making community referrals, and or referrals to internal supports such as the counseling center, student health center, academic supports and or academic advisor. Another function of this position would be to manage the counseling center waitlist by offering students brief individual and or group interventions. The successful candidate will work to develop relationships with clinicians and support in the community as well as campus resource providers. This is a dynamic opportunity for a clinician who is a great problem solver, likes to think outside the box, and enjoys engaging with students in a variety of ways.
This is a 10-month position following the academic year.
- Group facilitator and promoter
- Psycho education drop-in groups
- Affinity space groups
- Closed therapeutic groups with interns
- Provide case management and clinical support for students, who are struggling with emotional and or mental health challenges. This includes assessing issues of concern for students, providing brief solution-focused interventions, making community referrals, and referrals to internal support like academic coaching, counseling center, health center, and advisor
- Provide ongoing individual therapy to a small caseload of 5-10 students
- Masters degree is required in counseling, social work, or psychology
- Licensed, or ability to be licensed in the state of Vermont
The successful completion of a criminal background check is required as a condition of employment.
