Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses. Evaluation of athletic injuries. Treatment & Rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Counseling and education of student athletes. Athletic Training Administrative duties to be determined. Assist with the coordination of medical coverage for workouts, practices &home and away competitions, including scheduling of student and graduateassistant athletic trainers. Supervision, education and recruitment of student and graduate assistantathletic trainers.
Environmental Hazards:
Infectious disease, heat, contact with participants such as on thesidelines of an athletic event.
Possibility of hot, cold or rainy conditions during athletic events. Noise canalso be a factor during athletic events.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry in excess of 100 lbs., stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations. Extensive amount of time standing each day. Special Instructions to Applicants Education & Experience Position Qualifications: Required:
-Master’s of Physical Therapy/Doctorate of Physical Therapy
-3-5 years of Physical Therapy Experience, preferably with Division I Athletics
-Certified by the American Physical TherapyAssociation
-Prior to hire: Licensed Physical Therapist
Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge:
Strong analytical, written and verbal communication and interpersonalskills combined with the ability to interact with diverse department,University and community constituencies. Working Knowledge of NCAA Rules and guidelines. Ability to direct and perform confidential detailed work with accuracy under deadline pressure. Knowledge and understanding of guidelines in the NCAA Sports Medicine Handbook. Extensive knowledge of OSHA guidelines and universal precautions. Extensive amount of time standing per day and a willingness to work extendedhours including evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be able to deal with heat and changing weather precautions and ability todirect personnel in case of severe weather. Ability to manage and direct multiple personnel and tasks at one time. Experience and knowledge of organizing strength programs, especially forinjured student athletes. Working knowledge of basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database function. Travel is required in performance of this position: Travel will be requiredfor off campus athletic events that are covered by the Athletic TrainingDepartment. This individual will also travel to meetings and conventions tomaintain CEU credit for NATA AND APTA. Work schedule will vary according to practice and event schedules. These canchange depending on availability of facilities and weather changes. Athleticevents will take place after business hours, on weekends, and on holidays.

-Additional certification bythe National Athletic Trainers' Board of Certification
-3-5 years of Physical Therapy Experience, preferably with Division IAthletics
