Job Overview

The Student Affairs Administrative Assistant is a temporary extension of a critical student worker role, intended to continue support through the summer/fall semester. The role provides support for the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. This includes basic administrative duties, scheduling meetings and interviews, arranging meeting logistics including space reservations and catering orders, conducting research in key areas of interest for the office, assisting in the development of innovative new programming for students, and covering the front desk to ensure the office functions continuously.

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation

This position provides a full range of administrative support to the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and entails daily interaction with university administrators, program directors, faculty, students and division-wide staff.

This position reports to the Administrative Officer and works closely with the Administrative Assistant and the Interim Associate VP for Student Affairs.

This position has been designated as On-Campus. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent organizational skills, combined with strong communication and writing skills
  • Ability to prioritize work with strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Google and Microsoft Office suites
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information, situations, and interactions
  • Experience using EMS and GMS/Workday
  • Experience with Campus Groups
