Overview:Quinnipiac University's Department of Athletics & Recreation seeks applications for an Assistant Field Hockey Coach. In this role, you will assist in administering all phases of field hockey and team management with an emphasis on player development, offense driven on-field coaching and travel management.About Quinnipiac:Quinnipiac is a private, coeducational, nonsectarian institution located 90 minutes north of New York City and two hours from Boston.   • Adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and work in compliance with all University, NCAA, Big East Conference, MAAC Conference and ECAC Conference rules and regulations
  • Assist with player and team development to include; player individual coached sessions, player video review, practice and game development, pre-game and post-game break down, scouting for opponents and tactical adjustments with the greatest emphasis to be placed on attacking player development. Assist with goalkeeper warm-up when needed
  • Spearhead the team’s travel planning including transportation, food and housing along with organizing preseason and championships team needs
  • Work in conjunction with the Head and Associate Head Field Hockey coaches in daily practice planning with an emphasis on pressing formations, attack red zone plans and specialty situations
  • On and off campus recruiting responsibilities as assigned with travel expected
  • Support of unofficial and official visits including training for compliance, NCAA and recruiting software
  • Coordinate with associate head coach to assist in preparing team and opponent scout film including gameday management
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's required
  • Master's degree preferred
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of collegiate level field hockey experience
  • Level 1 or 2 Coaching Certification from USA Field Hockey preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • General computer skills with Microsoft Office preferred
  • Experience using GoogleDrive, DropBox, social media platforms and general knowledge of uploading and downloading film for exchange
  • Ability to manage a 2-3 hour practice
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to travel and work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
