Description:

Under general supervision, the successful candidate will cook food in accordance with established recipes in a cafeteria operation, as well as lead a group of cafeteria works.

Typical Duties:

  • Cooks food in accordance with established recipes and menus;
  • Prepares vegetables, meats and pastries for cooking;
  • Sets out food in appropriate containers to be served, and garnishes;
  • Ensures cooking and preparation areas and utensils used are cleaned after use;
  • May assist in the preparation of menus;
  • Instructs cafeteria workers in the preparation of food; and
  • Other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications for Selection:

Education:

Completion of grad 12 or equivalent, some post-secondary culinary couress are desirable.

Experience:

3 years of related work experience, further education may be substituted for experience.

Other:

Physical ability to perform required duties, ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written), tact in dealing with people and ability to lead. Successful completion of food safety training.

Note:

Please note the sessional period is from September to April.

  • Tuesdays: 10:30 – 19:00
  • Wednesdays: 10:30 – 19:00
  • Thursdays: 10:30 – 19:00
  • Fridays: 11:30 – 20:00
  • Saturdays: 11:30 – 20:00
