Job Summary: Under limited supervision, the IT Technician IV performs basic professional IT assignments. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of IT principles, practices and procedures, including hardware, software and networks, with in-depth knowledge and skill in at least one area of specialization. Ability to troubleshoot both standard and non-standard issues. Some evaluation, originality or ingenuity is required.

Additional Department Summary: This position supports intermediate level installation, repair, and maintenance of the network and telephone infrastructure for the campus. This position will also be responsible for cable TV support and repairs as needed.

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and five (5) years of IT experience; OR a Bachelor's degree or higher and one (1) year of IT experience. Knowledge of basic programming, networking, or system skills. May require intermediate level training or certification. Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented experience will be considered. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a working knowledge of electrical wiring and the ability to read building plans and cable routes.

Valid U.S. driver's license required. Must be at least 19 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

All final candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications: Cable TV experience is preferred.
