SUMMARY:

The LMS System Admin/Data Analyst is responsible for student database-LMS integration maintenance and troubleshooting. Team member also works with large data sets generated by the LMS and associated systems to create reports and dashboards to assist stakeholders in data driven decisions. The Analyst will work with faculty and instructional designers to understand course level data sets and help develop appropriate strategies. Performs LMS and course evaluation administrative functions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primary admin for LMS/SIS integration and workflows, troubleshooting systems errors
  • Researches API configurations, working with relevant vendor and IT members to plan implementation of Data Solutions and improved SIS-LMS processing.
  • Prepare documentation and explain technical projects; develop diagrams, charts and data to explain complex topics such as data flow, system utilization, process automation, and trends
  • Helps determine roadmap for LMS functionality and relevant data solutions.
  • Extract and format data from LMS and associated educational technology systems.
  • Develop and provide various reports using different data sets and survey tools.
  • Performs data analysis for course interaction, instructor usage, and student success purposes.
  • Works with stakeholders to determine data reporting needs.
  • Works with BI reporting tools.
  • Provides training on data reporting strategies and concepts.
  • Serves as secondary administrator to campus course evaluation system.
  • Maintains secure data sets.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology, Data Science, or related field.
  • Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Three (3) years of experience with large datasets, extracting and reporting from LMS. 1-2 years of experience with survey tool such as Blue Explorance, Qualtrics or similar tool. Knowledge of sound data governance and security practices. Demonstrated knowledge of LTI and API standards, database creation and structures, querying, and data visualization. Working knowledge of data warehouse workflows and practices.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

Experience with D2L Brightspace and Data Hub. Experience with Ellucian Banner SIS. Experience with Webfocus reporting. Familiar with predictive analytics techniques and solutions.

SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:

May supervise student workers and graduate assistants.
